Transfer news LIVE! Arsenal given Tielemans update; De Jong ‘would consider Chelsea FC’; Zaniolo to Tottenham; gossip
Arsenal have been incredibly busy in the transfer window but their business does not look to yet be done. The Gunners are still in for a midfielder, with Youri Tielemans linked with a move to north London, while Lyon have confirmed they would consider selling Lucas Paqueta this summer. In terms of outgoings, Bernd Leno is close to completing his move to Fulham.
Frenkie de Jong has been a Manchester United target all summer but reports in Spain claim that he would be more willing to leave Barcelona for Chelsea. The Blues are currently looking to add to their defensive options, after seemingly missing out on Jules Kounde, with Denzel Dumfries and Milan Skriniar among those on the shortlist.
Tottenham have been efficient in adding to their squad with a number of signings made earlier in the window, but Nicolo Zaniolo reportedly remaining a target. Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Manchester to hold talks with the club as rumours continue that he wants to leave the club in search of Champions League football. Xavi coy on Kounde links
Xavi has remained tight-lipped on Barcelona’s attempts to bring Jules Kounde to the Nou Camp, as they look set to beat Chelsea to the signing of the Sevilla centre-back.
He told reporters: “Kounde? I feel bad, but I still can’t say anything.
“The club is working to keep improving and have more competition [in central defence]. If there is something official, we will say it.”
Vinagre set for Everton
Everton are on the verge of completing a loan move for Ruben Vinagre.
The left-back only joined Sporting Lisbon permanently this summer, arriving from Wolves, but he looks set to make a swift return to the Premier League.
Sky Sports report that Vinagre was at Everton’s training ground today to finalise the deal.
Mourinho in for Roma
Eric Bailly is a target for former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho at Roma.
The Daily Mail reports that United are willing to sell the centre-back, after the arrival of Lisandro Martinez earlier in the window.
However, it’s claimed that Bailly wants to fight for his place under Erik ten Hag.
Update on Ronaldo’s United meeting
Cristiano Ronaldo was back at Carrington earlier today to discuss his Manchester United future.
The Daily Mail reports that Ronaldo has no desire to play in the Europa League and wants to move on, but insists he will remain professional.

Ramsey leaves Juventus

The Welshman had 12 months left on his deal but both parties were keen to move on and ensure Ramsey is able to find a new club this summer.

Chelsea interested in Kane
It will surely not lead to anything, but Chelsea are reportedly very keen on Harry Kane.

Spurs are planning on entering contract talks with Kane, who has two years left on his current deal.
Eriksen: Very special to be at Man United
Christian Eriksen has admitted it will take some time get used to his new surroundings at Manchester United.
The midfielder joined the club earlier this summer on a free transfer, as he continues what has been an unexpected period of his career.
“It’s weird, I never thought it would actually happen, so to be here, being a Manchester United player, it’s very special,” Eriksen told the club’s official website.
“I think from my career path before the incident in the Euros, the plan wasn’t to go back to the UK at all. I was thinking my time to go to Man United was before.”
